okay i have spent days looking and trying differnt exploits
i have tried them all
the one i am confused about though is the one in itunes
i try to select a differnt ipsw file and it says the file is not compatiable

any ideas guys ??

now, i cant read that so im going off what your saying.
if the error is that your ipod is not eligible for the requested build, you will be stuck until the new release (like me)
i think that you probably have the 8 gig model, the 8 gig is really 2g so it runs on 2g restores, you will need the 2g version of the restore and it is most likely easier for you to jailbreak.

just a side note: apple seems to have taken a Volkswagen (2g model) and slapped the stickers of a fighter jet (3g model) onto the Volkswagen.

Are you on 3.1.3?

Hi pplz! I had this problem to, but I figured it out. When they came out with 3rd generation, Apple only updated 8GB's hardware, the software is the same. That's why it doesn't have a headset with mic and remote or Voice Over or Accessibillity or any thing. Only the 32 and 64 GB are really on 3rd gen. But the new 8GB is considered 3rd gen because they have the hardware that makes a jailbreak tethered (MC Model). So you really need the 2nd gen ipod restores.
