two questions - unlock and tethering

My phone was never jailbroke. I just did a jail break on the below:

iPhone: 3G 16gig
Carrier: ATT
Firmware: 3.1.3
Bootloader: 6.2
Baseband: 05.12.01

How can I unlock the phone?

How can I enable tethering on the phone? Preferably using the built in tethering option that was done with benn.att.

no unlock tool for 5.12.01 at the moment. N ur bootloader is the newer one so cant downgrade the baseband

Thanks for the reply to the unlock question. I suspected that was the case. I guess I will have to wait for something that can either unlock my baseband or downgrade my bootloader. Anybody have luck with the sim card emulator thing that you can use if you are sim locked like I am to ATT?

Any takers for the tethering question?
